It doesn't seem like such a radical idea, they make luxury cars, luxury suvs, why not a luxury minivan. At this point it could be anything though, maybe even an x7suv.

I have BBC from DishNEtwork but it does not have it. Must be a different channel. I did a search for GEAR on all channels and the only one coming up (auto related) is Fifth Gear.

BMW won't call it a minivan, but if seats 7 and has sliding doors what else can it be? They would have no problem building it in the US on the X5 platform and price it in the high 30s, which is not that much above the high end of some of the current nicer minivans.

MUNICH, Germany -- BMW will build a multipurpose vehicle called the X6, supplier sources say.
Sources at two suppliers familiar with the project say they are being asked to provide price quotes on parts for the vehicle, according to Automotive News Europe, a sister publication to Automotive News and AutoWeek.
The sources say the X6 will be built at BMW's Spartanburg, S.C., plant.
A spokesman for BMW Manufacturing Corp. in Spartanburg did not confirm the plans.

^ Yeah, a BMW minivan just doesn't sound right. Will it be a true minivan, with sliding doors and all of that? Or is it supposed to be more of a crossover "people mover", like the R-Class?

What Acura crossover is he talking about?
Even though there's no Infiniti dealer here, I see a number of FXes on the road. I think that is what the X6 will be aiming for.

Jeez, Honda/Acura need better marketing. Did anyone catch what was actually written...he didn't thank Honda/Acura, or the Acura MDX, he thanked the Honda (brand) Acura (model).

MDX hasen't really changed since its introduction..
