Why should I put something in red when the performance concept car in question is not even close to the standard production car? Try following the simpler post, for simpler minds, 10x worse.

I followed your simple post. I just don't understand how anyone can be stupid enough to say that an M3 is not only going to be "worse" than a standard 3er, but 10X worse.

I think that's lighting. I see what you mean, the door looks much darker than the fender in the top pic. But there's no difference on the hood, and the difference is gone in the bottom pic. I really don't think BMW would let something like that slide.

They don't fit well, either. Check the gaps where the panels/doors meet.

Meh. Celica.

I have to see it in person before going one way or the other but BMW usually plays it safe the first 2 years with the 3 series. The 99-01 3-series wasn't much either until BMW tweaked it a little bit with the engines, body refresh, wheels, etc.

If I wasn't such a cheap bastard, I might consider one of these for my next car... (still a couple of years away from that tho').

Now that they're redone the 3 series, lets see if they'll bring a M2 (based on the 1 series to the US...

Plastic panels for less weights.

Plastic panels = more profits.

However, I like the design of the coupe. IMO, it doesn't need to be that aggressive. This design will be a good template for further aesthetic addons like wheels and bodykits.

looks cheap. looks too big.
I still like it, but it just doesn't look like what it should look like. And it certainly doesn't look like what it costs!

I want to like it. I'm trying to like it. It's about time for the dual exhaust.

But it looks like it was assembled at a GM plant in Detroit.

Let's hope it's a prototype, but I doubt it.

Wide gaps. Mismatched panels. Where did the BMW quality go?

I was just typing "When did pontiac start building cars for BMW?" in the quick reply and then I saw your post.

I'm trying so hard to like it and believe me I've tried - I like the Z4, current 7, 6 and 3, but I dunno about the 3 coupe. Comparing that to the Z4 the coupe looks positvely boring in comparison. But my biggest problem (and I think I'm the only one who's paranoid about this) is what seems like a huge gap between the rear wheel and the bottom of the three-quarter panel glass. In other words, it seems that either the wheels are too small, or the car is too tall, if that makes any sense

its looks like a gto(not a bad thing neccesdarily)...also, not really diggin the dual tips...they should either be hidden or just two pipes on one side if they are going to make the pipes so dinky lookin...

It's funny, I'll say it again........whenever a new 3series comes out people bitch.

As of recent history, people didn't like the E46 when it showed up. People loved the E36 and couldn't believe what BMW did to the 3series.

So now, people have a problem with the E92. Since the E46 turned out to be the best thing since sliced bread.

First off, when did the standard E46 become such an "exciting" design? Where people can call the E92 bland in comparison.

I have 3 friends with 330s (two are ZHPs) and I have an M3, the E92 is no more vanilla than the E46.

I do like it. It's a smidgen too big for my tastes, but overall I think it looks nice. The blue color above is kind of cheap looking, but I'm looking forward to the retractable hardtop E93. I think everyone on here will eventually come around and have no doubt that this car will continue to be the benchmark for the class.

Hopefully the new M3 will live up to the legendary status and benchmark set by the current gen. And more importantly, hopefully it will still be "affordable". A significant price increase, and it could start to enroach on 911 territory.

ok let me clarify my post a tad bit more..

My post was referring to the pictures above. Honestly, those pictures aren't too flattering. However, the picture on p43 are f'n awesome. From those pictures, I LOVE the car. But for some reason, I can't seem to like it in the above pictures. As far as the interior goes, I've never really been a fan of the design. However, the quality of the materials is great. Also, the ebony interior looks sweet. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing finalized pictures of the car in showroom condition, with different options and what not.

Shit son, the rumor around the E90 forums is that it will be priced couple grand more than the current 330i.

Keep in mind that all there will be left is the 328i and the 335i.

Next M3 will be starting at $55k is my guess.

Only info i can find on pricing. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=335i+pricing

No Jesal, it would be dumb for you to waste money on another car.
