no quotes yet since we don't have any residuals on the cars yet. I'm waiting myself.

No lease data until Monday. AHMC is not providing lease data until Monday. The official release date.

I don't know if I'm going to lease or buy yet. Are the leases 48 months?

They can be 48, but right now it looks like the 42 mo residual is the "sweet spot."

I believe 5AT models for 42 mo are running 59%. Anyone else please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I understand what the residual is in a lease, however why would one term be better than another term? And how does that affect the lease numbers? If possible, give me an example of how 42 months is a "sweet spot" as compare to 36 & 48 mos. Thanks.

I can not find any leasing info today at any Honda/Acura site. Any suggestions?

I haven't seen anything either. I'm still trying to decide if I want to buy or lease.

57% residual on 42 months with the navi model. The salesman said that is improved over last year.

Example for a sweet spot..

36 mo lease - $500 / mo
42 mo lease - $430 / mo
48 mo lease - $400 / mo

There is a big change between the 36 to 42 mo, but not enough change in the 42 to 48 mo number. You would be better off spending slightly more per mo in order to get out of your lease 6 mo earlier. By the way, these numbers are just for example...they mean nothing.

Does anyone have any "official" lease numbers yet? I'm still trying to decide if I want to purchase or lease. I have a pre-approval (good for 90 days), but I want to compare the purchase and lease numbers.

Just came back from the Service center from NJ Springfield Acura
They got 1 TL/Navi. and 7 none-Navi

42M 2000 down 53% Residual with 15000 m/year
For $440 + 40 for Navi one.

TSX same terms $409.

Is it a good deal?

Term Res. MF
36 59% .00215
39 57% .00215
42 57% .00200 (this is the best deal)
45 51% .00200
48 51% .00200

Those are official numbers based on 15k per year figure 1-3% higher on the residual for 12k leases. These have been confirmed by several people at several dealerships. 42 months is the sweet spot and is a fantastic lease deal.

Yes it is in those MF. Those numbers are for non-navi cars, navi cars are 2% lower. 12k cars are 2% higher

Would it be possible that money factors or residual value is different from one state to the other ?

Possible yes, likely no. I have confirmed those numbers in 4 states so far ranging from East coast to West coast. If you are getting numbers that are different ask the dealer about it since they might be misquoting or they might be trying to screw you.

Nothing down here are then numbers for 42 months, no sales tax included (since I cannot calculate that as it is state based).

42 months. 0 down Bank fee rolled in. 12k per year
$443.80 + tax out of pocket day of delivery is 1st month and doc fee.

42 months. 0 down Bank fee rolled in. 15k per year
$458.28 + tax out of pocket day of delivery is 1st month and doc fee.

Use this website to do the calculations, their tool is great.

Which dealership are you from? My dealer says the money factor is higher for 42 months (0022).

That is Jones Acura in Lancaster, PA. I haven't heard of higher MF from anywhere else and I have got confirmation from about 5 people in various states at this point. I would be a little suspect of a higher MF unless you have credit issues or something. That is basically a half interest point difference between the 2.

Now the dealer is backtracking and saying they can use the lower money factor - that they will submit it to honda and see if it goes through. Sounds like BS to me but the dealership is very convenient.

Glad to be of assistance in some way. I honestly think I could write a paper/booklet on how to buy a car and see it over the net, guess that would take ambition and drive though.
