I'll be happy if they at least offer 6MT. I'm not holding my breath they'd put in SH-AWD. If I could dream it would be a V6 with SH-AWD and 6MT. But I'd have to see a pig fly by my window, hell freeze over AND the TL nose to look pretty to me before I'd believe that.

I'm watching the web cast live right now. It's definitely a great looking wagon, no doubt there. However, it's only available with a 4-cylinder, no SH-AWD, and no 6MT option. So essentially, it's the 4-cylinder sedan with more utility. Curious how many they intend on selling...
#2406
Sorry folks, same old 4-cylinder/5AT combo. Is it just me or did they tweak the plenum a bit? Hard to tell from these pics.

The all-new 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon made its world debut at the New York International Auto Show today. The TSX Sport Wagon offers a smart solution to modern utility needs with its balanced and efficient driving performance coupled with bold styling and versatile cargo capabilities.
"The TSX Sport Wagon represents a smart choice for those seeking a vehicle with utility," said John Mendel, executive vice president, sales. "It's practical, fun to drive, luxurious and technically advanced, all while achieving an outstanding estimated highway fuel economy rating of 30 miles per gallon*."
The TSX Sport Wagon delivers flexible utility and generous interior space- perfect for those with a growing family or an active lifestyle. The TSX Sport Wagon boasts an innovative and highly functional rear cargo space that includes a removable side panel to accommodate wider items such as golf clubs and integrated under-floor bins for hidden storage. Along with this sizeable cargo space, the TSX Sport Wagon features a comfortable and spacious cabin with seating for up to five adults.
The TSX Sport Wagon's practical utility is cleverly masked behind crisp lines and a sleek, European-inspired exterior. The chiseled, muscular body and sloping roofline emphasize its performance capabilities while making it more aerodynamic.

The TSX Sport Wagon delivers brisk performance while achieving an EPA-estimated 30 mpg* on the highway. Drawing from its sports sedan roots, the TSX Sport Wagon features agile handling and quick off the line acceleration, allowing it to easily tackle a twisty mountain road or swiftly navigate through city streets.
To enhance the driving experience, the TSX Sport Wagon features the latest in advanced technologies including an available hard disk drive-based Acura Navigation System™ with an all-new 8-inch full VGA high-resolution color display and AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic and Weather™ featuring radar image mapping. For the audiophile, the TSX Sport Wagon will be available with an Acura/ELS Surround® Premium Audio System and a hard disk drive (HDD) for media storage. Acura site is up.
Obvious changes:
Obvious changes:
- VGA navi screen from TL
- I think the contrasting stitching on the seats is new
- Plood in center console from Euro Accord
- Is the metal accent darker or just a difference in lighting?

At least Honda is consistent in letting us down and not giving whats asked for. The deserve credit for that at least.
But in reality this thing wouldn't sell with a MT and V6 anyway so no biggie.

Are you serious? They finally bring the wagon here and it's a let down? SH-AWD ain't ever gonna happen on this generation TSX, so given that, what more do you want them to do?
#2413
If you're ok with the AT and the 4 then great. I'm not. Then again, I'd never be in the market for a wagon, just not my thing. And I think Honda knows this will never be a big seller so why bother bringing over various variations. Its smart business, just not great for the consumer.

#2416
I'm holding out hope for that in the sedan too (but only if they bring back Milano Red!). I doubt whether they would sell five of those in the wagon. I can't see how the no-V6 or 6MT in the wagon choice is not good for the consumer if there aren't more than a handful of those consumers.

OK, the TL AWD 6-MT costs over 43K and it's made in the US. Assuming that the wagon is still made in Sayama, are you ready for a 43,000 TSX wagon. (assumes the TSX is relatively less than the TL but Japan prod. negates that)

#2421
But it's not as if a TSX wagon is a 'halo car' as the NSX was. I think at this point in Acuras lifespan, we need cars we actually sell .... in volume! (and just to be clear, I don't think this is a volume vehicle)
#2423
I think what Honda really needs to do is phase out that archaic 5AT considering they have their brand-spanking-new 6AT in the ZDX. The 6MT would be nice to have but in this day and age a six-speed auto is the standard.
#2424
I mean it just sucks that Honda/Acura stopped producing vehicles that have... soul like they used to.
#2425
#2426
I'm the 6AT is a pretty beefy unit, they will probably roll out one designed for 4 cyl cars eventually. Yeah, we all know they're late, but IMO if they had to choose one or the other, IMO the 6 cyl version made more sense. They needed the MPG boost more.
#2428
Let the whining begin:
"What no AWD!?"
"What why AWD and all that weight!?"
"What, no V-6!?"
"What, no MT with the V-6?!"
"What, no diesel?"
"What, no 4 cylinder option?!"
"What, only a 4 cylinder?!"
"What no AWD!?"
"What why AWD and all that weight!?"
"What, no V-6!?"
"What, no MT with the V-6?!"
"What, no diesel?"
"What, no 4 cylinder option?!"
"What, only a 4 cylinder?!"
"What? It's not going to be 2800lbs with a turbodiesel V6"
"Very well done Colin! No grill comment or is that too easy?"
"What, no Hybrid!?"
LOL
#2429
^ I'm really not whining.
I just miss the old Honda days.
I'm a big Honda/Acura fan. I had 6G Accord and 3G TL before my current car.
Not too long ago, Honda/Acura had so many cars that I wanted to buy. Nowadays, there's nothing I want to buy from either of the brands.
It's just sad. That's all.

Jalopniks take on it ain't any different than ours, then again why would it be. You don't offer luxury "sports wagons" without at least a V6 powerplant. They should have just sold this as a honda and left a few luxury items out if this was the plan.

I am not surprised but still disappointed that they are not offering a V6 option (OK, I thought that the SH-AWD idea might be far-fetched but I was hoping....). In the presentation, they state that the rivals will be the 3 series wagon and the A4 Avant. Who are they kidding? They want THIS thing with a 4 cylinder engine and no AWD to compete with those German sport wagons?! That is just ridiculous. Maybe with the Passat wagon...
Then the beak is just interesting, isn't it!? Certainly they are trying to do something to tone it down. BUT, this is just epic failure! So they eliminated the thick metal piece surrounding the air inlet, and instead, they added some horizontal lines below the metal piece with the emblem (in the attempt to neutralize that awful buck-toothed "design" with the sedan grille), and yet, these new horizontal lines are now fighting with the honey-comb design in the bumper.... what is wrong with the Acura designers? They really think that MORE is better!? Oh, and now without that metal piece around the air inlet, there is a big gap between the grille and the head lights. Is it me or is it UGLY?
They could have got this so right, and yet.... sigh!

I understand that you guys are enthusiasts and you want a V6, 6MT, 6AT, 7AT, 8AT, SH-AWD, and other nice things. I'm sure if we had access to the sales data then it would support the way they went with this. Don't blame Honda/Acura for not making a car with the options you guys want, blame the fact that the market for such a car isn't big enough to make it worthwhile.
#2440
I guess I don't get why its whining. Whining would be for unreasonable expectations, SH-AWD may fall into that category. Are a V6 and MT really unreasonable?
But in the end...
that's what it comes down to.
I get that costs are prohibitive because its made in Japan. I suppose we should just be thankful to the great Honda for at least throwing this bone.
But I'll continue my 'whining' when it comes to the lack of an MT or 6AT on the V6 sedan.
