Acura: RLX News

BMW 530XI is slower than Accord and TLX (TLX without 10speed auto) and quality/refinement not much better. You cant compare the POS BMW with RLX. that is whole different level of quality and refinement.
BMW 5 is too plain and low profile. almost like recarnation from mid 90s. RLX has tall imposing stance. interior of BMW 5 is worse than TLX.
https://www.peterpanbmw.com/inventor...model=5+series
Acura has new electrical airconditioners with airquality sensor, all around acoustic glass, sunshades, 14 speaker Krell Audio, noise reducing rims,. The center stack that is no clutter. really soft and thick seats.

I posted the 2014 RLX as an example of a RLX Sport Hybrid that's 2-3 years old and that, with some negotiating, can be had for under $30K.
How do you know "there is very little chance you can find 3 year old MMC RLX" for a similar price? The MMC isn't going to fix the RLX sales problem. Dealers will have to continue discounting them to sell them. That means poor resale value.
I've already proven how wrong you were about the RLX's "best in class resale value" --> https://acurazine.com/forums/automot...387118/page74/
I've proven how a 2-3 year old RLX Sport Hybrid can be had for under $30K. 3 years from now, I'll prove how a 2018 RLX Sport Hybrid can be had for under $30K as well.
If I were to buy an RLX, it definitely wouldn't be in a flamboyant color like Brilliant Red Metallic. That's my least favorite color, especially for a large cruiser like the RLX.
And there's more than just one 2014 RLX sport hybrid available for close to $30K. I didn't post this one because miles are higher than I prefer.

RLX has unique road presence now. it cannot be even compared to tesla. which is another unreliable crap.

My bet is it will continue to languish between 75 and 100 units per month. And I'm probably being generous.
MMC will NOT change trend of declining year over year sales. It will barely break 1,000 units for all of 2017
2013: 5,053
2014: 3,413
2015: 2,195
2016: 1,478
2017 YTD: 922
2018 will be just as low as 2017.

RLX is already very competitive for its segement. the quietest, efficient, fastest and best handling on skinny all season tires.
to give you clue of Honda technology power. MDX hybrid can pull 0.87G. 0-130mph in 32 second. 22mpg combined. RLX is much more powerfull, lighter and aerodynamic. technology wise second to none. Traffic Jam assist technology.

And if its such a good car as you so claim, how come the 5 series isnt being outsold by it?

People buy SUV/CUV. Sedan is after thought. you can see it from used car prices of BMW 3/5. they trend below Civic/Accord/TLX. that BMW 7 is joke.
People appreciate Japanese quality. The resale value is sky high high despite poor fuel economic. Acura simply not have Japanese made SUV otherwise the brand would be much higher.

But even if it had 5k miles. so what? when you have good re-sale value and no one cares?
GX460 US Sales
2016 -25,148
2015-25,212
X5 US Sales
2016- 47,641
2015- 54,997

GX460 based on transaction prices on avg $10k expensive but that's not the issue. there simply 10 times more X5 used available compared to GX460. GX460 is 50% less efficient in fuel economic but despite it people tend to keep it long term so it hold value on other hand BMW X5 is disposable garbage. .even one year old X5 one approach warranty expiry the asking price become half.

Acoustic glass is shit. As soon as you get a single chip, it instantly cracks. It's too bad EVERYONE is using it. Yup, my buddy's CX-5 even has it.
traffic jam assist is old tech.
class leading comfort? In what category? As rated by who? Acura? You?
youre buying a 60k car for the air purifier?
android auto and carplay are "MUST HAVES" this day and age. Even the civic has it these days

Acoustic Glass definite cracks easily. Huge crack in my F150 from a tiny rock chip.
AndroidAuto is worlds better than the OE NAV & much better at traffic avoidance. Has Google Maps & Waze.

Lowering the price, adding more tech, and making it more refined has nothing to do with desirability.
They are moves you make when sales are poor and you want to try to make the RLX more appealing.

2018 Acura RLX Hybrid First Drive Review: Beakless and Better for It - Motor Trend
The RLX is a quiet, comfortable car that’s perfectly suited for both road trips and daily commutes. Plus, considering how much space there is in the back seat, you could bring three friends along with no complaints.
The look might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and the handling might not be as impressive as all the NSX talk and “Sport Hybrid” trim might suggest, but what Acura has done is at least a step in the right direction. Pushing the all-wheel-drive hybrid version helps give the RLX more of an identity and gives buyers more of a reason to pick it over some of the competition

This car is still underwarranty and 1/3 the price. the whole world is not stupid. the more complicated BMW become the lower resale value. only Acura can implement long term hybrid technology. I see even year 2000 hybrid and Honda civic hybrid with over 300k miles.

You can post as many pics as you want. You can make the font size as big as you want. None of that matters. None of it show how desirable the RLX is. You haven't proven anything.

Alex on Autos posted his review of the Acura RLX SH-SH-AWD -
And Redline Reviews -
Lots of complaints about the old infotainment system, but Alex seemed to really like the driving dynamics of the car, so did Redline Reviews.
Surprising for this class of car, it still has faux wood. The infotainment looks awful in these videos too though - the screens look really outdated. Redline Reviews comment was - this infotainment system is from the mid-2000s.
