Unfortunately, the TL can't be all things to all people. The TL will differentiate itself on certain unique features just as the Maxima, Saab and just about every other car in this segment does. Actually, not even in just this segment. There will never be a conclusion to this discussion because some automakers are constantly innovating.
If the TL's feature set, or lackthereof, is an issue for some buyers, I'm sure cars like the Saab 9-5 and Nissan Maxima will make them very happy, even if sacrifices are made in other areas like quality, service and reliability.
The TL is probably as not as much of a niche player as some would like. It doesn't offer RWD, reclining and ventilated seats, and power folding mirrors. That should by no means make the TL a failure, or a car to be overlooked.

I may be speaking out of turn, but I bet more people would rather have ventilated seats, power folding mirrors or a really advanced trip computer than Bluetooth and DVD-A. By the way, I am excited for Bluetooth and do not care either way about DVD-A. I have had it at home for nearly three years and have fewer than five DVD-A discs.
I want features I cannot add on my own, like ventilated seats or a super trip computer. I can go out and get a DVD-A player or a Bluetooth kit.
My $.02

I don't care about DVD-A either. I do think Bluetooth is a nice feature though. Especially since it's integrated into the car's audio system, no retrofitting required! Regarding the advanced trip computer, it remains to be seen what the TL will offer. I'm familiar with the trip computer in the Nissan Altima. I don't think it would be unreasonable for something like it to show up in the TL. Maybe some TSX owners can give us an idea as to what information the TSX trip computer provides.
Regarding the ventilated seats, it is an available option on the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 745. The Saab 9-5 and 350Z Roadster are the only cars I know of priced in the $30K price range with this feature. So, there are alternatives to the TL. I'm sure some sacrifices are made by pursuing either car. But hey, it's all about what's important to you.
True, the TL won't have the features you desire. My point, however, is many other cars don't. No car can be all things to all people. The ones that try usually end up not selling.
I'm sure the TL will have some features that we will learn about on or after 9/1. Some of us will be very pleased. Others will be very disappointed. It will be easier for us all to pass final judgment when we get the hard facts and have a chance to test drive it.

Your 96 Maxima was a pretty good build, So is my Dads 94 Maxima, I also agree with Vtec as saying the reliability of the new Maximas is not up to par with Honda, Let Alone Acura..

The Ford Expedition also offers ventilated seats. Ventilated seats are up there in importance, right with navi and xenon lights!
Unfortunately for me, Acura/Honda is the only company that can make the car I want, because I want their Navi system. If money was not an object, I could get the E55 or a 7 series, with a crappy navi system.
