XM reciever DIY install. . .

I just picked up a Delphi XM unit and I want to do the install in the car myself. Has anyone on here done it before? Is there a Blitz converter available for the H/U?

Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks!

Great timing on the Q, scandal. Great minds think alike

What type of antenna is the best going? Make? Roof, trunk or glass mount? Going XM myself here in a couple weeks TIA

I'm almost 100% sure there isn't a Blitzsafe adapter available for the Delphi Sky-Fi receiver yet. The Sky-Fi has only been available for a few weeks.

I had a Pioneer 903 XM tuner installed this week (I know, it has its drawbacks, but it is smaller than the Delphi and has a better user I/F than the Alpine). I'm using the Blitzsafe HON/XM DMX PIO V.1 adapter and the SQ is excellent.

I can't comment too much on the antenna issue. I selected the Sony antenna, as it's the smallest available. I had it mounted on the rear parcel shelf, as I didn't like the thought of sticking it on the roof or trunk. I am getting occaisional dropouts, however. At some point I will need to decide which is more important - eliminating dropouts or vehicle appearance.

Good luck!

It seems like my only option right now is to use the cassette adaptor that comes with the Delphi car kit. Hopefully that'll give me slightly better sound quality over the FM modulator.

That tape reminds me of the ones that came with the Sony Car Discmans years ago!!

I guess Blitzsafe doesn't make an adaptor yet. . .

Get an aux input adapter from soundgate or a aux adapter from I think streeteffectz........with either one you will be able to input the audio out from the delphi unit into your factory deck.

is there a converter that plugs into the cd changer port on the stock headunit that can be attached to an AUX input? i have asked this question like 4 times and no help. trying to get a direct input into the radio from my laptop.. the tape adapter sounds like sh*t.

i believe this is what everyone wants to know who doesnt have/plan on buying a cd changer and has stock radio.
