This wire must be critical
Hi guys,
I have a wire that's not connected and it's for my sound system since the labelling says AMP on one line surrounded by 2 japanese characters on each side
then on the next line it says CONTROL +B
XXAMPXX
CONTROL +B
I think since this wire is unplugged my stereo is not turning on and it seems to be the problem since it's not been powering on and it's been sitting in my trunk (Thanks alot acura techs for fixing my A/C but not putting this wire back in!)
Anyone know?
Thanks
It's a white 2 rows of 6 double pins (one larger pin and smaller) and on the other side is a female rounded connector with 13 pins (3 rows of 4, one single pin above them) and a squared indent opposite of the 1 pin and the labelled wire which i said is above which is blue and white in color and has a plastic casing over it and seems to fit something cylindrical.
/ white/blue wire
white connector -
\ cylindrical wire that has alot of wires going to it
thanks

Are you talking about a +12V low current (definitely under 1A, but probably more like 300mA) line that's used just to click over a relay in an external component? Lots of amps have this input because it allows a "soft power-on" where the full current that the device needs is not abruptly switched on an off (causing a pop). Without this your device may have power, but does not "know" to turn on. If this is the case, that wire should have +12V when the accessory setting is on (may require you to try to turn the head unit on to) but it would be shut off when the car is completely off...
I haven't opened my dash yet, I'm this close to
I"m just wondering if this wire goes in the back or in the EQ
It must be this wire because I'm telling you man it just seems to fit the bill with hte above description since the deck itself has the dash lighting on it but doesn't turn on ...
Should I open my dash and look? Im' very computer saavy so I doubt alot of wires will discourage me.
LEt me know
thanks

That's probably the remote turn on wire. It turns on the amp when the stereo is turned on, that way the Amp isn't always on. I would check the voltage coming out of the amp to see if its actually sending a signal to the speakers.
