where to mount the tweeters

where to mount the tweeters

ok i am installing my m6 components and cant seem to find a good location for the tweeters... where is everyone mounting there tweeters... oh pictures would be appriciated... thanks..

yeah but in the 2002 the memory seat controls are there... there is really no go place to mount them in the 2002 doors...

Some speakers have grills with tweeter bridges built in so you can mount the tweeter directly over the speaker for best sound. If your speakers do not have these try to fabricate something that will allow you to do this so you won't have to worry about putting any holes in your car interior.

Agreed, keeping the tweters close to the mids is the best way.........but because I have the memory seat controls and also that my long legs typically rest against the door(blocking highly directional high freqs from the stock location) I opted for this:


Is it the best set up? NO! On the other hand, It's not too shabby SQ wise.

I just installed my fronts like that and am pleased with the difference. Like you my leg covers the speaker so I decided to go with what you have pictured and left the rear tweeters mounted over the mid. I am just never too thrilled with drilling holes in places that show but I have ordered extra pieces and were only like $4 dollars each. SO when I trade the car in I can put the good pieces on.
