What's a female prong connector?
What's a female prong connector?
In SilverKnight's shock sensor instructions, he writes:
"...Female prong (connector). you can get it from AutoZone, Radio shack for about $2-$3/dozen
...
Connect the female prong to the end of the red wire..."
What in the world is a female prong connector? What does it look like?

(the following is to be read with Beavis laugh in background
there are female and male connectors. the male connector will have a sort of spade or cylindrical shaft of metal exposed. the female counterpart will have the hollowed negative of the male so as to be able to "receive" it. example: the wall sockets in your house are female connectors. the prongs on the end of your toaster or vacuum are male connectors. also, the ends of RCA or coax cable for your home audio equipment have male ends and the individual units themselves (receiver, cd player, phonograph etc) all have female connectors in the back of them.
hope this helped.
