i have alpine 6x9s as my rears. they're cheap...around $100 and do quite well for rear fill ins. IMO. don't really hear them that much....but just wanted to use them for fill-ins basically.

The most expensive Alpine 6x9 speaker is the SPR-692B...it retails for like $199 and is a coaxial design for good bass capabilities as well as giving crystal clear highs...great speaker for the rear of the car. Link to the website is www.alpine1.com and has very extensive info on the speakers themselves as well as the other products in their extensive lineup.

Just look around, and definatly listen, it all depends on what kind of music you listen to, and how you listen to it. Polk, Alpine, JBL, Infinity, Boston Acoustics... they are all very good brands, Polk being my preference. Just go see and hear for yourself, cause everyone has a different opinion.

another reason why i purchased the alpines 6x9(6939s...cheap but okay)......they fit right in the hole. no need to add spacers. i had a hell of a time trying to make the polks fit. those two bars in our trunks made the freakin thing almost impossible to fit. it will fit but you need spacers and a lot of patience....in my case anyway. after trying to make the polks fit, i gave up and went with the alpines.

I would go with Boston RX97s or RM9s if you want some good bass out of your 6x9s. IMHO, they are the fullest 6x9s I've heard, but they are a bitch to install.
