what are you using for midbass?
curious what aziners are using for midbass, approx 80 hz and above. what door speakers are you using to achieve good sound in this range.
mostly im looking for recommendations on quality door speakers for a 2g tl. My goal is to find somethin that will bring that drum beat alive in the cabin.
all ideas welcomed and appreciated, thanks.

planning on using peerless sls 7's.
Although probably try and start them around 60hz. I also have some Dayton RS180-4's I was going to try, when I was going to go 2 way.
how high do you need them to go? are you running 2 or 3 way?

well i'd like something that would sound good up high also, at least as good as stock. i guess it would have to be a good midrange speaker with with good midbass, right?
i was reading a lil bit about the peerless sls 7's, could you fit those in a 2g door, without major modification? not a bad price on those. and crossing over at 60- wow! let us know how they sound if you do buy and install them.
anybody successfully instal RE xxx 6.5 comps in a 2g door? If so, how do they sound?

Ive heard just about every speaker in car audio. Ive been doing this for 10+ years and DYNAUDIO is the way to go for midbass. 3" voicecoils, lightweight cone and other materials make for a really "fast" and punchy response. They also play deeper than just about anything else on the market. My 8s are crossed over at 35hz. You do need a lot of power (my 8s in the doors get 300 watts each) and a great install is a must of course. For your car you could go with the mw162, mw162gt for an easier install. If you dont mind more time, money, and modification the mw172 will allow for some serious bass presence in the front of your car. I have a switch to turn of my subs and it is plenty of bass.

I'm very happy with my ID ctx65 components. I believe the midbass is crossed over at a high 7Khz. I have the low end crossed at 65 hz and they sound great. The silk dome tweeters are awesome, detailed but don't scream like my Infinities did.
