What is a good Cd/Dvd head unit to purchase?
I'm looking to get a motorized head unit for my whip. I want it for Dvd/Cd enjoyment. What do you think would be the best head unit to purchase? I want to spend no more than $1000.00 on this unit, I was looking at the Sony xav-7w with the 7"motorized monitor. Anyone know if this is worth it. Streeteffectz if your reading this post can you help a fella out?

Kenwood
Well bro for under 1k I dont think you will find any flip out radio that comes with DVD. For now maybe you should get a good head unit that has a cd-player built in and later add a trunk dvd player or in dash. If you want to spend a little more I own a Kenwood KVT-911DVD and love it its touch screen cd/dvd player and has a T.V. Tuner I recomend waiting a bit longer and getting this also has a great X-OVER. You will probly be able to get one now for a little under 2K. Also try e-bay many people have units for sale there. :p

I seen a clarion vrx952vd with touchscreen. It also plays DVD/Cd audio/Mp3 and Cdr's. I haven't heard anything about this unit though and this place wants 1200.00 for it. I really dont care for a TV tuner, I can watch TV at home. I just want the DVD for my son to watch when we go on long trips. Anyone ever heard of or has this clarion unit?

Bnavarro, where did you purchase your unit from? When you detach the face plate does it look like nothing there, also how is the quality when viewing DVD's?

dude,
the eclipse is nice, but i like the kenwood 911 the most. Of all the LCD HU's, its got the best sound quality, most options, most user configurable, and i can find them on e-bay for $1300 NEW. And you cant beat the touch screen. The pioneer, clairon, sony, and panasonic lack one thing or another, especially sound quality. the only other one i would recommend would be the alpine, their head units have the reputation for the best sound quality ever, but their LCD version kinda lacks in the features department... and the screen aint all that great...
