What do you have for aftermarket speakers?

I'm shopping for speakers and I don't know what to get. I have a clarion XR2420 4 channel amp and it puts out 60 watts x 4 channels at 4 ohms so I want to match speakers that will be good for that amp. I want to get a component system in the front and just replace the rear door speakers...all the door speakers are 6.5's right? I have an 03 tl type s! Already have a sub and touchscreen pioneer deck I just got a paycheck and need to spend it

What is your budget? Imo one of the best comp sets you can get for your money are the Tantric Sounds HD components. You will have to contact them for a price quote (they will be right around the $300 mark). They also have matching co-axials that will work in the rear doors.

A couple other good sets of components to look into are the Crescendo Audio Mezzo's, Incriminator Audio I Series, Sundown Audio SA Series, and Image Dynamics CTX's.

I personally don't see the need to have rear fill since I rarely drive with people in the back seat. If you don't really care to have speakers in the back you have the option to bridge your amp at 4 ohms to get you 180rms per side. Even if you stick with the lower 60 watts, it will power these just fine.

I ended up getting the alpine type r components and matching co-axials for the rear. I also bought a pioneer amp that gives 4x100 watts rms..looking forward to this project

The new Type R series is a pretty good set up. The Brands mentioned above use to be good to great, but not anymore. They are all crap now, they have been bought out and are just relabeled crap.

I ordered type r's already so I'll do whatever it takes to get them installed, but will they install with a mounting bracket or am I going to have to do a custom install?

No idea if they will go right in. Worst case scenario you will need to make a wood baffle. Not very hard to do at all

So that's basically like a spacer?

Yes pretty much. You will need to screw the wood into the door panel and then mount the speaker to the wood.
