What are the best speakers?

I'm putting in Pioneers that I already have but I have been hearing good things about the JLs, Bostons, and MB Quarts. I want something to give good clean sound. I have enough bass with my subs so I need good highs to match. I most likely wont change the speakers until later though.

Are you thinking about components? I have Focal's that I like a LOT. I have a friend with an accord that has some Diamons Audio components that sound good too.

I have said it a billion times, but speaker selection is very subjective. Everyone has their own personal tastes for aound. What kind of music do you like to listen too? What amp will you be using to power these speakers? Do you like your music to be brighter or smoother? Do you often mistake brightness for "detail"

If you give us some more info we can suggest some speakers for you to listen to.

Bostons are incredible, but the cost drove me to get Alpine. I'm happy with Alpines range and response, especially for the money.

You should really take some time and go out and just listen to as many sets of speakers as you can. You will know what I mean by "bright" vs. "smooth". You never gave a price target...

Since you don't seem to be too critical about the sound, I would suggest getting something along the lines of the new Crystal components, the JL XR or VR lines are nice, the A/D/S/ 2- series speakers, or the DEI 3065's. These are all very good speakers and will handle rap/hip hop with ease. They are also very nicely priced. If you are looking to spend more than these speakers are worth, let me know, I have some different suggestions in that case
