JBL 1200 isnt a ghetto amp. Its actually a very nice amp.

 

so, can u tell me what other amps exist for 250 u.s. NEW that can get u 1200 watts of power?

 

I'd say the new JL Audio 13W6.v2 and a 500/1 = $800ish for both

 

just cuz its cheap, doesnt means its not quality. I have owned that series amp, and so did other people i know.

850 .or 600..and u have one of the best subwoofers ever made, and u have good clean reputable power either way.

And it will sound much better than the JL stuff mentioned above...
You also get bragging rights that u have IDMAX...

If you really want JL audio, stick to the W7 only.

Why go with JL audio?, when u can get the best for less than 1000

dont pay more than 350 shipped though.

Again, i would go with the USamps, simple because of the name, the sale price, and their built like tanks, and they looks pimp in chrome...also AMAZING customer service...

The IDMAX is a very high end subwoofers...mating that sub with a JBL product is akward to me.

also make sure you get Version 3 IDMAX...its the latest version, supposed to be more efficient and a few other advantages over V2.

also depending on amp you choose make sure you choose the right IDMAX sub, either D2 or D4...u can discuss all this stuff with normad, he is very friendly.

 

The W6.v2 subs sound awesome!!!

 

IMO, for a sub amp on a budget I would take that JBL over that USamp 600 in a heartbeat. Double the power for half the price?? If you are gonna go with that IDmax, get the DVC4ohm load that JBL down to 2 ohms and I am pretty sure you will be happy with the sound. And in all honesty the MTX amplifiers are pretty well built too. The 81000d would power that IDmax very nicely at a reasonable price.
