Warning on fuse-box taps!
Warning on fuse-box taps!
I've used these little fusebox taps on every car i've ever owned: (86 honda accord, 96 Honda civic, 94 and 2001 Nissan Altima) and never had any problems removing them. I like them better, becase It's easier to remove than the vampire connectors when/if I sell the car. I just hard-wired my Sirius Sportster receiver (Thanks, Pavdog), and my Valentine 1 detector. I then realised the one fuse I chose for the Valentine didn't shut off with the ignition key. (I chose the clock backup. I know, I'm an idiot and should have realised...)
So I pull the tap out, put the fuse back in, and, none of the accessories that should work without a key work anymore. Including the alarm, power doorlocks, etc.
Turns out, the tap warped the fuseclamp to the point where it won't catch anymore.
I had to put the tap back in so it would work again. I probably need to get the entire fusebox replaced now.
Oops.
So I post this as a warning to anyone else on these forums: DON'T USE THEM!
