I have a 2000 TL with navigation. I am looking to upgrade the stock sub. I want a little more bump out of it but don't want an external sub because i like my trunk space. I was wondering what my best option would be. I have heard that switching the amp that is powering the sub can help you get more out of it. Would it be easier to just replace the sub completely?

I know that there is a aftermarket replacement for the sub that fits in the same area. It's some kind of shallow mount sub. Search the TL side for it.
