VSS wire for Pioneer AVIC-N1
I recently bought this and in order to install it asks for a vss input. Does anyone have any idea where the vss wire can be located, and or what color it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated

ACURA, TSX, 2004, Speed Sense- Blue/white wire
The ECM/PCM is on the front of the transmission tunnel. The connectors are on the passenger side. The VSS wire is in the white 31 pin connector E, pin 26.

YOU THE MAN ZED. I will def post pics during the install. I wanted to put it where the radio is, but it is too much work to create a faceplate for the unit. I am going to install it where the mp3 player is supposed to go. Should start the install this week.

The gps will work fine. The vss wire from what I have been told is really only necessary in congested areas that would block the gps antenna from receiving a clear signal, such as when you drive through NYC or any other big city with big buildings. Dont get me wrong I would love to find out where the wire is, but I haven't noticed any real big problems with the nav because that wire is not hooked up.

It's good to get confirmation from another N1 user. I haven't noticed any problems with my GPS without it either. I think we'll be okay. The shop where I got my install said that they will hook up the wire when they find out where it is. If I get any info, I'll be sure to pass it on to you dude!

The shop where we do all the work at has a computer program called ALLDATA. It is basically an interactive Helms manual on the comp. Last we looked the TSX was too new and was not in the program. The shop just received the new dics so hopefully it will be in the new version. Should be able to get my hands on it this Sunday. I will keep you posted.

$5 says it's the same thing as in the Helm Acura manual.
So, I'm not clear, was it the connector that someone couldn't find, or that wire color in the connector?
Because even when wire colors change, the pin location usually doesn't...

I can go and look myself though. Where is the ECU located? Is it hard to get too?

ok i started this thread back in june when i first installed my avic-n1. I received this info below and figured i would try it
I got under there with my oscilloscope to verfy that this was correct and had my friend drive while i probed every blue and white and white and blue wire i could find. i got nothing that varied with speed. i expected that i would get some sort of square wave or sin wave or even a triange wave form. this wave forms frequency would have to vary with speed in some fashion. i could not find anything and i gave up for the time being. I have acces to http://alldata.com/ from working at a shop but that info has not been updated yet and i have to call it in and i again just have been very busy.
i will get around to it soon and search for it again but due to the fact that it works perfectly fine without it, except when i go through tunnels i have not had much incentive to go looking for it.

i got mine installed today...the dude who installed the VSS wire call the guys at HONDA and asked where this wire was at. After talking to HONDA, he told me it's WHITE/BLUE...i've included pictures of the location. He said there are three WHITE/BLUE wires in that harness, so he gotta try each one to see which one was the right one. So if you have a multimeter or sumthing, test it.
I know i know it's supposed to be the PINK wire to the VSS wire...the guy didnt pay attention but we switched the VIOLET/WHITE with PINK wire around afterward...see the pics???
Check it out Abrams.....
