Viper Alarm w/ Remote Start
I just installed for Christmas a Viper alarm w/ remote start into my TSX and am having a little problem with it when the car is remotely started-- the interior lights won't come on automatically when you open the door. I was curious if anyone else has installed a remote start in their TSX and incur the same problem.

i never touch the switches by the lights. the lights will come on automatically if i don't use the remote start and when i shut the car off and get out of the car the lights automaticallyturn on and dim like usual -- it's just when i have the car remotely started and try to get inside it's a pain in the nighttime b/c it's so dark

Where did you get your alarm install? Why don't you go back to the installer and tell them about it? How much did you pay for installation anyway? I am getting my Clifford Matrix 3.5 soon... and I wonder how much the installation will be.

i suspect the domelight supervision is set to on. my guess is that after i think 5 minutes the TSX automatically turns the domelight circuit off to save on battery. either they didnt power all the ignition supply lines. and the domelight circuit thinks the car is off and im assuming the TSX treats the domelight differently when the ignition is on or not. perhaps its the same either way but if they wired a dome light supervision from one of the door switches the car will think the door is open and this causes 2 problems, 1 the alarm wont be triggered by an opend door and 2 the domelight circuit will eventually turn off because the system thinks its draning the battery.

I have the Clifford Matrix RS3 (Same thing as the Viper, both made by parent company DEI). And my lights do the same thing, never noticed it until you mentioned it. Not sure why they don't come on, but I'll try to find out.

also, the alarm sometimes doesn't disengage when i put the key in to deactivate the remote start and when i open the door the alarm goes on again while my engine is still on.
