Video wiring problem

I have a pair or visors that have the video cables cut, the person who sold them to me didnt feel like taking the trouble of uninstalling them. And my problem is how am I supposed to connect them to a cable with a plug. I tried soldering with little avail. Is there something special I need to get ?

Any way to take a picture of these recently-removed displays so we can see what you actually have? I have faith in soldering, but ony to the right wires...

Ok, I had to wait for my bro to come back in town with my digi. I bought the two visors from nate a long time ago and now just started trying to install them. He never told me what was what but it doesnt look that foreign, at least the one I took pics of. I got this one to power up so the ground and the positve are right, it looks like theres two other wires, one is the white cable and the other looks like the insulator or something, please tell me what you think and what I should do.

OK, the braided stuff on the video cable is the shield (-). It goes to the outer ring of an RCA connector.

The center conductor is the (+) and goes to the center pin of an RCA connector.

You *could* cut off one end of an RCA cable and connect the conductors rather than connecting to an RCA jack itself...

If these two short together in your wiring, the magic smoke comes out of your video source unit and floats back to China.

^^^ Yepper, just get an rca, solder and shrink wrap away. Just make sure your signal and ground dont touch!

Use electrical tape.

You can get shrink wrap at Radio Shack... but for your application, use electrical tape.
