Video Setup - Help

hi guys,

im kinda new to audio/video setup so i need some help. i have a 04 tsx without navi and i want some tv's in my car, however, the thing is i want everything to look as stock as possilbe.

so....this is what i was thinking....install screens in the sunvisor and wire everything to a slim ps2 which would reside in my glovebox with wireless controllers.

feeback?

and does anybody have a pic of this kinda install, not necessarily on a tsx.

i got a quoate from a custom audio place, and they said that everything (incl ps2 and tax) would cost me about $1550 cdn.

OK, if you want it to look as stock as possible, put a 6.5" or 7" widescreen backloaded in the storage pocket behind the door, why don'tcha? I don't think much of the LCD's that fit in a sunvisor.

Does that include the Blitz/SHOND to run PS2 audio into the OE HU?

I'm thinking about doing the same thing. There are 2 reason's I don't want the sun visor screens. 1. I don't like the quality 2. If the passenger wants to watch a movie while I'm driving I'll get pulled over for having a video playing while I'm driving. My only problem is whether to get the oversized headrests that come with screens built in, or see if I can get some smaller screens that I can install to the headrests myself (not the universal type that mount to the headrest posts)

one of my first video install jobs i did sunvisor screens because i did not want them to get stolen. i was very happy with the job because they fold up and no one knows they are there.

You definitely came to the right place to ask this question. There are lots of people with video/screens in their cars. I really like CColtsIceHockey's install on the Mini-Ps2. Very clean and I don't think he had to spend a lot of money on parts. I would go with a Ps2 install like his.

Is it illegal in Canada to have a screen that the driver is able to see?

It's illegal here in CA, so I probably won't be putting them in my car. If it's illegal where you live I would avoid screens in the visor. You can see a TV in the visor from VERY far away. I was driving behind someone with one the other night and it just lit up the Freeway. The backlighting on a screen can be very bright and really stand out, especially at night. If a cop is around, he'll probably see it for sure, and you could get pulled.

Clifford alarm with a soon be installed battery backup. It just depends on how stealth your install is. If everything looks stock then you might not need one. Either way, I like to have an additional aftermarket one for peace of mind. My city is known to be kind of high on car theft, especially Hondas and Acuras, so it's much better for me to have one.
