I just got my V1 last weekend. I went ahead and hardwired it into the car just to the left of the rearview mirror. You cannot see it at all from outside the car!
The V1 is amazing.... I was driving on the interstate and it picked up a speed trap about 2 miles away
well worth the $400 if you are a habitual speeder like me

Now for my question. Where did you connect the groundwire? I've just installed mine in my new '04 TL and need to find a better spot for the groundwire connection.
Hey lflorack
Once you remove the bottom of the dash, you will see LOTS of groundwires that are connected to the metal under the dash.
You can either tap into those, or connect onto one of the many grounding bolts.
I have installed my V1 in my 04TL - here are the two links.
