I got mine for 400. Seems to be the going rate, ebay or not.
Well worth the money but thats another story.
As for mounting, I did it myself with little or no trouble.
Tapped into igintion switched fuse (not sure which one right now, but found that info on this site) in the fuse box on the drivers side, ran the wire up in the "sealing strip" in the A-pillar, stuffed the rest of the wire up in the area around the sun visors and just mounted right there on the glass.
A little left of center.

I just installed mine to the left of the mirror. One suction cup in the dot matrix area and one on plain glass. Tapped into a couple of wires that turn on/off with the key that are visible when the light/sunglass holder unit is removed.
v1's are the best.

those arrows work. and the new bel and x50 are not better by significant margin.
mine has paid for itself 3x during the years i've had it. plus not all troopers use the latest-greatest equipment, yet.

i personally don't care either way, seeing as my last speeding ticket a few years taught me to just not speed. So please don't construe this as me trying to flame anyone, but i hate seeing people waste money if they don't have to.

there are alot of others but this summarizes fairly well. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not trying to say the valentine1 is crap. It has been one of the industry standards for some time, but why pay that much when there are others just as good if not even a little better for less?

also, if you haven't bought a bel with in the last year or so, don't compare the currect bel products to the old ones. They were just bought out by Cincinatti Microwave (the people who own Escort) which seriously bumped up the quality of the Bel's
