Using external amp and HU power

I want to use my JL 300/4 only on my front speakers and was thinking of getting a new amp for my rear speaker but, instead could I just use HU power to power the rears. I have bi ampable crossover and was thing of using all 4 channels of the hu to power the rear speaker. My concern then is distortion and losing the fader. Or should I just buy a cheap amp and mount it on underside of the rear deck..

First off, I believe your TL had F and R speaker outputs and a preamp sub out, as far as I know, so I don't think your fader would even work between the R speaker outs and the preamp sub out.

But rear speakers suck anyway. I say leave them out.

I have a aftermarket deck right now. So my fader and all still works. But I thought of it and just gonna add a small amp for the rears..
