Universal hardwire iPod install! Check this!

OK, just found this thing and it sounds good, unfortunately, it's 190 simoleans.

http://www.installer.com/ipod/index.html

This allows a hardwire install of iPod that will recharge and allow you to use stock controls to control iPod.

Search the Forum for the ICELINK. There is a great DIY for it. Does the same stuff you listed.

Right with both it and the neo ion “the one I have” are extremely easy to install. All you need to do is get to the back of the radio and plug a wire in.

The ion kit raises some questions like do you have to do anything manually on iPod to get proper playlist started, artist selected etc.? Turn it on/off? How quick is interface? Like any lag time b/n hitting the button and getting a reaction?

I have the neo ion and you can use the controls on your iPod and also the ones on the deck and steering wheel. I would say it's a fast / good interface and it also charges.
