Call Mechman... Their stuff is top notch, and you get more than you pay for... You can buy from other places, but normally, they don't put out what the company says they will... Look here for examples: http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/f...ead.php?t=9623

I havent got one yet but I did talk to mechman like matt recomended.I told them my sub amps were going to draw 280amps and this is what he said: Personally, I would reccomend our 250 amp Rhino series unit, because it has a much stronger low RPM output curve, but still makes good peak numbers. (150 amps by 800 rpm) With 1 or 2 XS power batteries, you would have no problems powering 280 amps worth of load. The 250 amp Rhino series unit for your vehicle is $499 shipped. Just give us a call to order- 760-490-2754

mlogan@mechman.com

- mechmanalternators I'm sure this will work for most of us. I'm going to give one a try when I can afford one.

I'm pretty sure a guy up the road has one of those rhino series alts, but it does some crazy output... He's powering a SoundStream XXX-10000 with 1 alt, 1 HC1800 under hood, and 2 D3100's in the trunk. On a full out burp, his voltage drops from 14.4 to 12.8... I was standing there watching the fluke volt meter when he burped... I was impressed...

Started on the side pannels today.Whole pannel was dissembled front and back to make it flat as possible so It was easyier to work with and most of the factory clips and screws are going to be used.I still dont know how this will be finished but heres my start.

I've done all cutting to the rear arm rest.Took about 2 hours to get right, only triming a little at a time. I've trimmed the material to where it needs to be now all I have to do is dremel the sharp conners so the material dont rip when wraped.spray with 3M adhesive and that sides 90 % done.My wood strip is even going to fit right above the sub. Then then leather insert will have to be cut to go around the sub In front and a piece in the back.I cant beleive how good this is looking.A little less than half the subs are going to be inside the pannel. Some will probally say thats stupid. But its going to look bad ass.

just finished trimming and wraping the arm rest.Had to trim the insert also that I didnt think I would have to.When custom work is involed everything changes so everything has to be modified to work.Everything is still looking good.I did put a clamp mark in the arm rest .I taped the whole arm rest when I was spraying the adhesive so I could not see how much presure I was putting. It is looking great thou. On the back side you can see where I need to make some L brackets so I can strenthen up the last couple holes on the arm rest.Custom this, custom that,it kinda sucks but it beter me doing this than have someone else kill me for the labor hours. It may not look like much.theres alot of hours in this already. I'm going to start hacking up the leather insert today.

Once again all pieces are just for test fit look. There will be finished pics soon. not one piece is mounted yet ,all pieces just balanceing. If you bang the car they would all fall down. It's going to look pretty good.

I hope so too.I left at least a 1/2'' gap away from the surround.Do you think they will stroke a more than a 1/2''? I started piece'n it back together tonight.started bracing on the inside of the pannel. This stuff takes time. I'm accually thinking of another interior mod and I'm not even done in the back yet.

I dunno... Look at the xmax of the sub... That's the maximum it will travel. However, some companies post the 1 way xmax, and others list the 2 way xmax, so be careful with what the number actually is...

I just got done installing my 2nd amp.Did not have time to do any tuning yet.It does seem alot louder to about 1/3 volume but over that the amps seem to be losing power.I need to keep the volume low till batt and alt I guess. Question about tunning.Should I tune amps seprately or match settings on both. The 12's would be happier probally over 40hz and the 18 probally 30hz.

The amps are pushing different subs in different enclosures with different needs. Tune them completely separately...

I did a breif tune, 12's are a 60hz or so,and the 18 is as low as my amp goes.Might have a bad set of rca's or the preout on the amp is bad.The 12's were hitting harder than the 18 so I started messing with the rca's and the 18 came alive, and started banging louder than the 12's.I also turned the 18 box around,so that the sub is more underneith the back deck and the port is to the rear.I definitly have to port the deck some how because the 18 is moving massive air.I really did'nt know how much air it was moving because the port was inbetween my 2 boxes and I was going to release theair up threw the deck. Now with the trunk open the air is banging the tail light so hard is sounds like someone is litterly hitting it with something. If anyone knows how totune the phase I need to know.I know you should leave it at 0 if the box is in the trunk, but my 12's are closer to the front. The 12's amps phase should be a little differnt, right or wrong?

In too deep to change my mind.when subs and electric is dialed in I'll be getting to the mids, highs and HU. I was thinking of taking the headrests off and putting 2 motorized monitors inside each seat so one screen will face forward and one will face back.the screens will rise together and dissapere in the seats like how some nav units come out the dash.wont be till after I finish mids highs. But Thats what I'm going after next. You dont like that idea either,Huh?

I've finished the one pannel.Havent had time to mount it yet. I had to show my bass last night. My wife forgot her food at work when she left.So I said I'll go get it,Because I wanted to listen to my stuff. As I pull in the parking lot I turn it down.I was talking with a kid outside when the manager came out and he was like I thought a mac truck was coming threw the building.I've never heard anyone say anything like that.I told him I turned it down when I pulled in.He said he could here things rattling inside the kitchen in the back. Then 3-4 more guys come out.So then I let the subs have it.I usally dont pump my stuff with the trunk open but everyone wanted to see my stuff.I opened the trunk and could'nt believe the btl with both amps screwed to it was sliding from the left to right everywhere like it had on ice skates. It has to weigh over 150lbs.I've had a bunch of boxes and never seen a box so big just floting around.I just played it off like it was no big deal ,but I was totally impressed myself. This morning I screwed it down to the floor.Right after that I pulled to the gas station with the same shit. Some guy got out his truck and skwinted his eyes and said something I turn it down, and started talking with him/showed him what I was doing with my ride, and he asked to hear it.So once again pumped the subs. The guy said wholy shit your making the gas pumps rattle. He when to stick his head in the car and his shirt was blowing everywhere.I told him I was not even powering it properly. Cant wait for some batts and alt.

No updated pics yet for everybody.Just another story,I tryied to make another video to update my domain page.I played my system for like 30 something seconds then my subs started playing like they were playing test tones and I was not able to control the sound so I shut off the car.went inside to feed my son dinner 15 minutes later cops knocking at my door saying the multiple neibors called on me and I was bouning balls off my car with my bass. Now my paint cost me 4000,do you really think I was bouncing shit off my car is what I said to him.He was walking away saying next time his going to write a ticket for noise. So I argued with him for about 5 minutes before he finally left.I know its crazy loud.but 7ish.when I let the wife take the car to work and she comes home @1am I can hear it comming for 2-3 minutes easy. I'm uploading the clip right now so you can see how long I played my music.I still havent even went to see what happened to my stuff yet.O yea for people who have a 2nd gen cl you know how tight our rear veiw mirriors are.mine is pointless now.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzGQKEEo4x0
