UGH, Kevin AKA Flipster23 needs help with some audio

So after getting rid of my 03 TL-S, I picked up my 08 Mazda 6 non bose miss the bose already even though it wasn't that good. But anyway I am in the market for new audio.

More than likely going to make my own box i'm just deciding if I want, 2 10's or 1 10. I was looking into the polk line to save some dough since I just bought a house and what not. 4 channel amp will come later on. For now I'm just looking for sub, mono amp and probably interior speakers.

- I listen to Hip hop, r&b, country, some rap more old school rap, Oldies, and a little bit of jazz

Don't really have a set budget not looking to break the wallets more then they already are.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Kevin

Once you throw a sub in, it's gonna sound like ass with the stockies. Rule of thumb is to start from the front and move your way back.

Is trunk space a concern?

Also, are you willing to buy used?

trunk space is somewhat a concern not really since it has a decent size trunk..

and I'm always down to buy used LOL!

I wish I could change the headunit but the metra kit for the Mazda is around 250 just for the kit.

Hmm

Since you're gonna use the stock headunit, might as well get a processor.

There's a 360.2 here for 225
http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...sixty-2-a.html

Sub wise, i'm gonna lead toward a 15" ssa dcon. 93db @ 1w efficiency so you'll get gobs of output with minimal power(250-300w). Only cost $139, too.

Needs 4 cubic feet sealed, though.

How big is the trunk?

Do it. The sub is not an spl monster or anything. It's sq first, spl second. Can't really beat it for $139 bucks.

enclosure requirements are
Sealed: 2.0-3.0ft^3
Sealed Optimal: 3.25-4.0ft^3
Standard Ported: 3.0-4.0ft^3 @ 28-33hz
Optimal Ported:4.0-5.0ft^3 @ 28-33hz

Should work well in 4 cubes sealed

There is a guy (Chuyler1) that had/has a Mazda 6 with an incredible infinite baffle sub setup, aka No trunk space lost.

I would look him up on the boards.

Not here, but on several forums including DIYMA, and the Mazda forums. A quick google search

But this one was the one I was thinking of

Saw this on diyma

2 of these for <250 is pretty darn good.

I was thinking..along with fourth, it would be cool to piece together a whole setup of stuff that's either in the classifieds or hot deals section on diyma.
