Tweeters Installation
Tweeters Installation
Tools you need:
Hole saw, electrical drill, screw drivers, wire stripper, wire, female prong (spell?), tape, and screws and washers to secure the crossover and about 3 hours of your time.
1)take off the panel, there are two screws, one you can see at the door handle which you pull to open the door and the other is the big one where you pull to close the door. remember to take off the black plastic triangle thing.
2)disconnect all the hardness, 5 on drivers side and 1 one passenger's side (there's one light bulb on both side which you turn to take out)
3)measure where you want the hole and drill a hole on the panel (better use a utility knife to cut out the leather first so it doesn't get twisted) where you want the tweeters, make sure they're at the same spot on both doors
4)glue the tweeters on the hole, let sit for around 45 minutes.
5)drill holes on the pocket if you wanna put the crossover there which I did. I drilled 6 holes total. 2 to secure the crossover and 4 for 4 wires.
6)connect wires on to the crossover (2 inputs and 2 tweeter outputs). put it in the pocket and screw in. pull the wires through the holes.
7)connect the wires with the female prong on to the tweeters and secure the wires on the panel
8)take out the 6.5 in mid-bass on the door (3 screws each) strip the two wires connected to it and connect the input wires on them.
9)connect all the hardness and the light bulb
10)put the panel back and enjoy!
Any Qs, ask Ron, Ed or me. Thanks!
