TSX speaker upgrade

Hello all, new poster here, spend most of my time at TOV as CRXR. I just got an '06 TSX and have been perousing your audio posts. I have for a long time been in love w/ Focal Audio. I actually have a lot of parts lying about from an old civic install. Had my adcom 4702 stolen from me and have been pining ever since.
I prefer not to go whole hog w/ HU and amp upgrades. Prices on focal stuff are looking good w/ new product lines coming out and old style new components at half price. I will probably use the CV6x9s for rear deck lid unless anyone has experience that they don't fit w/o mods. I REALLY want to avoid any fabrication on my new car! I have a pair of utopia 6.5" midbass which I would love to put in the front doors, but they really required some cutting and chopping to fit in the my '04 Honda Pilot. Any ideas of whether these may fit better in the TSX? I also know these speakers pull a load and may produce less sound w/ stock HU? Has anyone tried to install these on a TSX?
Thanks in advance,
TSXR.

The hole in the sheet metal doesn't allow ANY higher-end 6.5 drivers if they use traditional doughnut ferrite magnets. The best fit we've found without cutting metal is to use a speaker with a neo magnet - we use the DLS UP6 a LOT and the UR6, IRidium, and Nobelium all fit too. The Morel Dotech 6 should work too. I'm not sure if the DYne MW160GT fit without cutting, I think so. All of the above assume that you make mating spacers that get you the full distance AND seal up from behind the door panel.

But the Focal, the Vifa/Alpine X, the big CDT, anything with the traditional ferrite magnet just doesn't clear in my experience.

I'v done 6x9 woofer upgrades. The best sound is a 10" in the corner in a fiberglass box. Pics are around here, Reach has posted some of his. We prefab a 10" box for a lot of members (we made a mold of my wife's car).

most recent focal discount find is a yahoo store called discount avenue, but you may also try Zalytron online for some good listings - not as comprehensive, but very good customer service from my experience.

I have been keeping my eye also on the Morel stuff, but have never heard them, only that they are very high end, very pricey, and very good. Anyone heard Morel 6" and liked them? Any relative comparisons to focal?

Peace,
TSXR

Asking the wrong guy. I don't like Focal at all.

I would hold Morel in higher esteem than Focal. Very different design methodologies.
