TSX speaker poll - who has what?

TSX speaker poll - who has what?
I wanted to start a poll to see what speakers people are using in their TSX...factory, aftermarket, what brand, how much, how do they sound...
I wanna know what speakers rock this car...
Let's do a little poll... reply with:
1. what speakers you are using?
2. how much you spent on them (roughly) ?
3. how satisfied you are with the speakers you currently have ?
I'll start:
1. speakers: acura factory speakers
2. cost: n/a
3. satisfaction: they suck - brittle cutting highs, no mids

I replaced my rear 6x9's with Alpine Type-R's and I love them, no more popping or crap vibration with lots of bass... all deep rich clear base for me. I forget how much I paid, lol I think it was like $120 plus wiring harness...

1. speakers: CDT Audio CL-61A (front components), CDT Audio CL-6x (rear door), waiting on new rears
2. cost: a little over $200 for both sets of CDT's from thezeb
3. satisfaction: they sound awesome, esp with 75w (JL amp) going to each one, that really made a big difference in their performance, even over the original 40w/channel alpine amp I was using.

1. Infinity 9603i 6x9, Alpine type-S in front, Infinity Kappa Sub sealed box in trunk
Speakers powered by JBL 75.4 amp, sub powered by monoblock amp
2. In all about 650euro's (including cables/fuses/powercap)
3. Pretty damn good sound... Only downside was the hunt for vibrating parts from
the bass...

speakers: stock
cost: N/A
satisfaction: Sound is just OK but I'd like a little more clarity and a cleaner bass. The tweets sound a little harsh/shrill and there isn't enough midbass from the front doors. Loooking to upgrade

1. Avincar TSX "kit"
2. $375+ shipping, includes 2-tweeter's, 2- mids and 2- 6X9 subs
3. Kits haven't shipped yet, but will post review when I've evaluated them.
I have a pretty good reference system, check the link in my signature the other hobby

Thanks for all the replies. I am curious how the Avincar kit will sound. I am looking for something that gets the sounds close to a good flat sound. I am a mastering engineer and musician, so I tend to be pretty picky. I spend plenty of time sitting in from of either paradigms, or reference studio monitors, and that is the type of sound I have come to expect (of course I know the car is not the ideal place to do this, but the close to flat/balanced sound, then better).

I have DLS UP6 components in the F doors and the dash. The UP6 mids are in mating spacers and play down to 60 or so. The tweeter come in at 2.2kHz and bring the vocals up into the windshield. The highs are clear and detailed without being harsh, and the upper mids are very good since the tweter helps the mid out so much. The F doors have had Cascade VMAX installed, and so has the R deck.
We can switch between a DLS MW110 10" sub in a small sealed fiberglass box, or a pair of Genesis 6x9 woofers in the R deck for bass. The system is run by a DLS Classic RA41 50Wx4 amp under the passenger seat of my 04.
The sub-bass comes in at about 70 and is VERY tight with the 10 - that, with the solid midbass coming from the F doors, and many bass notes sound like they're coming from the windshield. It's a VERY good sounding car system... so good that the WRX driver that had us do his car the other day wanted the exact system that I had (except he used a Reference amp)...
Many people at the Seattle meet heard my TSX... and a few heard Pilbox's with our Avincar setup.

Also, are you running these off the factory amp or do you have another amp powering the door speakers?

Also, how do you wire power amps into the stock system -- does the head unit have pre-outs? Do you need them?

I notice most of you guys have amps (at least for the sub). couples questions... did you all tap into the lowlevel outs at the factory amp? where did you all ground to? any pics? I couldn't find a good spot to ground to, so I am currently on one of the bolts attached to the seat hinges...i know I can find a better spot on the frame...any suggestions?
I put in a RF amp last weekend and am getting some noticable alternator whine through the sub amp and rear speakers on the factory amp (since those are the low level outs I tapped into). Wondering how you guys fixed the alternator whine, if you encountered it. I would prefer not to have to use the high level outs, if at all possible...
