TSX Components Help

Looking for help to pick out a set of 6.5 components to add to my TSX. I am planning on purchasing Mercmans Harness when available and buying a JL Audio 300/4 amp. I was originally looking at the JL Audio ZR650-CSi, but was turned down by the price and the fact the tweeters don’t fit behind the OEM grill. This is a must for me as I would like it to appear stock. I am on a budget of 400 dollars for a set of components. I would be adding the speakers to my 500/1+ 12W6 current setup. I am looking for good loud midbass and not so much bright highs. Any help would be appreciated.
I have been looking into all the following brands:
CDT Audio
Diamond Audio
Image Dynamics
JL Audio
Infinity
Focal
Boston Acoustics

I used Polk 6.5 components and speaker spacers from the Accord for a nice easy install. I wanted to go with Alpine typeX but the Polks were free and I didn’t have time to make MDF spacers. Also since I lease I didn’t want to do any cutting, I tired a set of 6-3/4 components but I would have to trimmed some of the inside of the door panel and make spacers. Check the FAQ section and this post as well.

You can’t use any amp with the TSX.

mercman - Are you satisfied with your Polk's? I am also leasing so returning the vehicle back to stock is important. When will you be selling your harness again?

Yes although I like the Alpine type X I installed in the wife’s Subaru the polks have a nice sound to my ears. I might spring for a new set of components for the next car (09 TSX is possible) but we will see.

I’m making harnesses again and will have some by the end of the week.

I am also redesigning the active BALUN and should have some by summer.

sorry not familiar w/ the tsx...Is there a stock place for a separate tweet (in the sails?), if so, and you know the JL tweet won't fit, how big of a tweet can you go?

I think it'd be hard to get really good midbass response from stock locations without sealing the doors, which might be hard if you want to be able to go back to completely stock. I've never leased a car, but would they notice/care about deadener behind the door panels?

my guess would be they wouldn't even bother checking, as long as everything looks good from the outside. I probably wouldn't deaden the doors, unless I was serious about purchasing the car at the end of the lease. I will most probably just create speaker spacers that extend to the door panel as shown in the DIY section.

If you're just going to give them the car back at the end of the lease, it's not worth it to deaden it. Now, if you're going to buy, that's a completely different story...
