Question Trouble installing USA SPEC PA11-HON2y in '04 non-Nav

I've checked through the posts and have seen pics about installing the USA SPEC adapter, but am still having trouble with the install. After taking out the storage tray I am not finding the cable to plug in the adapter. I barely have enough room to move my hands around. Is there anything else you need to remove first to be able to plug it in to the factory radio? Some of the instructions I have come across range from super easy to removing all the trim and the radio head itself. Yep, I checked out the Neo Ion install video and they make it seem so easy a caveman could do it.

With a non-nav 04, the connector is empty until you plug the harness into it. It is too the right.

By the way, in the installation workd, the space left when you pull that pocket out is a veritable swimming pool Try a TL install sometime!

If you still struggle, I will take pics of ours tonight when I get home...

I'm going to try today after I get home. So if I open up the storage tray, and reach up and to the right, there should be a slot? I did reach up and found a blue adapter, but it was already plugged in.

Its 'before' the blue adapter, facing you. It is also the only plug on the bottom of the unit (the blue plug is on the back, but located at the bottom.

Yes, its an empty hole for an 04 non-nav (as I understand it). Get a small mirror, a mirror tool or a girl's makeup compact. Use it to look up, with a flashlight if necessary. Everything will becomes self obvious!

It's not the blue connector. That's for the CD player.
The white connector is what you are looking for. It's located at the bottom of the CD player.

It looks like the mirror is the magical ingredient with the install. I've just procured a pocket mirror and will be giving the install a 3rd try in a few hours.

Yep, the difference is that on a non-nav you don't have to unplug the white cable because there is no cable plugged in. With the nav, you unplug the white cable, plug it into the female connector, then connect the male connector to the factory radio. This way both the ipod and nav will work.

That's what the "y" on the end of the model number is for. They also offer a -HON2 model which comes without the y-connector. Just make sure you're getting the right one!
