so basiclly you want to add navi to a non navi tl... good luck... i mean it has been done but it isnt that simple as just buying the screen and harddrive and plugging it in....

Are you looking for a hard drive (the old units basically had laptop hard drives in them), or are you looking for the entire DVD unit?

You'd also need the GPS antenna. You may want to check local junk yards to see if they're available. Good luck - I would think that type of equipment would go fast.

im not saying it is impossible cuz there has already been someone do this... but he will have his work cut out for him.. you will need the new dash peice the navi screen, dvd unit, gps antena, all the wiring... not to mention redoing the a/c controls and some of them are even controled by the navi screen.... personally i would just buy an after market navi unit and go that route....

well just looking at the option rite now
i think the ac controls are already digital should be plug and play for that...
yes will need new dash peice for sure....

the thing w/ after market is its not clean enough and i dun want it getting stolen or getting my car broken into...

hopefully i can find a wrecked TL w/ navi to take the parts...but that'll be hard too...
just considering options here...

the a/c controls will not be plug in play... the navi controls the blower speed... i would suggest that you do a lot of research before you attempt this...

With the time and money involved in a conversion from non-navi to navi IMHO with the right installer you can get an aftermarket navi/headunit installed in your ride and keep a clean look. The fiberglass works that some of these guys are capable of is just unreal. Sure it may cost a few bucks but it would be a better alternative then trying to retrofit your car.

it shouldn't be that bad if someone can do it on a CL on acura-cl.com shouldn't be too bad to be done on a TL
i was just on acura-cl.com and i read quite a few members who have done the conversion already hopefully they'll be some help in telling me what the heartache's they've went through and give me some of their opinions

hey the conversion you are talking about on acura cl is the navi conversion... this allows you to play dvd's on the stock navi screen... this is not converting a non navi tl to a navi tl... there is only one person that i have seen that has converted there non navi tl to a navi tl... and he said it took something like 23hrs of labor.... good luck.... that is all i can say...
