Thoughts on this TSX System

Hello,

I've been lurking in the Audio/Video forum until I got my TSX and now that I get it today, it's time to update the stereo setup.

My thoughts are:
Diamond Audio S600, D661s, or D361 up front
D331i in the rear (I know eld...I'm gonna go with NO REAR FILL and give it a shot, but if I want RF, I'll go with these)

a 12" sub in a sealed enclosure (would like to stay Memphis or Diamond)...advice? Maybe a 10"?

5 channel sub
either the alpine mrv-f450, memphis belle or the JL 500/5.
Or 1 x 4 channel (alpine, memphis, jl) and 1 mono d for the sub if I can get both for ~$600.

I'm between an average listener and an audiophile. I'd say I'm a 75% SQ and 25% SPL if that's ok to say.

Thanks again everybody!

I have no experience on Memphis, so of the other two I'd go JL. Scott seems to have a lot of experience on Memphis.

I would use the silk Diamond tweets if you can... I know StreetEffectz has a lot of experience with Diamond so I'd go with his rec between the kits, he knows their strengths and weaknesses pretty well IMO (offline conversations: )

I'd make sure the Diamond coaxes will fit - Ron again : )

I gotta stop pissing so many people off : ) Look, your amps are all set up for R fill, dude. Just use that fader ... ; )

I doubt you're pissing anyone off and if you are, who cares? From my lurking, you've earned the right to have your opinion! I respect it as do many others.

I picked the amps Memphis and the Alpine because I could bridge them to drive the fronts. Not sure about the JL tho (F 100x2, R 25 x2).

Thanks for all the help!

I just got the Alpine MRV-F450, but haven't installed it yet. Hopefully by the end of the week. You can find them for $300 shipped on-line. Car Toys had them for $185, but most are out of stock.....Gee, I wonder why? $499 amp for $185?

Ok...any thoughts on the Focal 165V2 for the fronts instead of the Diamond D6?

both have metal tweeters (listen really long before you decide if you like that sound). diamond hex speakers are more on par with focal k v2. the d6 is more inline with the polykevlar line of focals. listen to both with the same music and decide what your ears like. or save some money and have eld hook you up with some avincar speakers... jps
