Sub Suggestion's

Well, I just about have my pair of Kicker 10L7's sold. So, it is time to decide on a new sub. I have 500 watts for the sub from a JL 500/1. I am thinking a single 12" sub and was wanting some suggestions. I am leaning towards either an Infinity Perfect 12.1 or Image Dynamics ID or IDQ series. I want SQ first but want the most volume I can get out of my 500 watts. I like the high sensitivity rating of the Infinity. Using the same 500 watts, it should play about 8-10 db louder than my Kicker 10L7. That is according to the 86 db of the Kicker and the 96 of the Perfect. Any other subs I should consider. Again, top notch sound quality is a must and something that will mesh well with my 500 watts.

Well I just ordered a Diamond Audio M6 12" for 249.99. I talked to the guy and told him the CM3 sucked and he was sayin I am jsut use to biggers systems and thats why. So the M6 was a good choice for me.

The Infinity would be a good choice to.

Take a look at the ED O12 on preorder for $165. I just ordered one. Will do sealed or IB, no ported stuff. Designed for SQ.

personally i am going to have to say a 10w7 will out perform all of the subs you have listed... the only sub that i would compair with the 10w7 is the idmax... and i am not sure if they make it in 10in yet... but those would be my 2 choices... the 10w7 or the idmax... spend the money get a top notch sub so then you will not have to replace it in a couple of months when you decide you want more bass...

dnd...that Diamond is a good looking sub.

brewboy...never heard of that sub before.

shawhite...i would consider the 10W7 or the idmax but, i do not think 500 watts is enough for either one.

Topgum....I might look into those as well.

Keep them coming.

Also, Onyx's new LSM12v.2 should be coming out May 1 or so.

Actually the 500/1 would be perfect for the W7. Not for the Idamx. I looked at the sub and wow it need 1000 watts.

hey acurax2 that jl 500/1 would be perfect for that 10w7.... since the 500/1 really puts out somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 w and the rms on that 10w7 is 500w i would say they would be a pretty good match... not to mention i heard this setup in the local shop and it rattled everything in the damn store...
