sub location

Ive got a 12" Polk MOMO sub that im going to be building a new sealed enclosure for once i finally get my ride...for all of those audiophiles out there, what is the best direction for the sub to fire? It only needs like .88cuft of space, so I was wanting to put it in on one of the sides of the trunk so its out of the way and i can get to the spare if need be, but I dont know if this would be bad for imaging. Any ideas or suggestions would be cool...thanks.

my best results have always been with bandpass firing back, and sealed firing forward..

you can build a 12" deep box that will fire into your back seat and still have access to the spare tire - my setup ain't the prettiest around, but it sounds good to me. Take out the 6x9 when you put in the sub, it will greatly increase the spl of your sub.

If you are using a high powered amp place it behind the seat facing towards the back.

Yes, you will get a better sound by removing the 6x9s, but you will get more road noise. So if you consistantly like it kinda loud take them out. If you listen at low volumes leave them in.

technically all you would need is enough clearence to let the speaker vibrerate.

Every car is different. Try it out with a test enclosure first.
