sub enclosure

Has anyone built a sealed enclosure to fit in the trunk to the left or right just inside (in front of the tail lights)? I was thinking of putting together a sealed enlosure for a 10" sub with mdf, and mounting the amp on the opposite side to preserve trunk space etc.

I have seen tutorials for fiberglass, I don't think I want to go there. If anyone has pics, or other thoughts on that plan, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Glass is really the only way to take advantage os curved spaces like that.

It's not really hard... time consuming, with the drying cycles.

I (as always) recommend practicing on someone else's car.

Or trust in Triple A and make a box for the spare well.

Check the TSXs on Car Domain(Sound Domain), I'm sure I saw at least one with a box in the corner..

Thanks for the responses. I wish I had someone else's car to practice on...

Has anyone else heard about JLaudio comming out with a line of "shallow" subs this summer? That might make this project more plausible.

Haven't heard that... maybe they'd be like the old Illusion Audios, with the magnet in front.

Honestly, I don't think that speaker thickness is the limiting factor here...; ) At least for me, it's my willingness to work that hard right now.
