Stock amplifier with regards to security system

I am planning on just removing the stock amp - it sux and is only taking up space now anyways - does anyone know if taking it out will in any way interfere with the security system or any other electrical systems on the car? Thank you---Brian

1) The stock amp isn't too bad. It's the speakers that really blow.

2) The amp does not affect the security system...only the headunit does.

Thanks - I don't like the fact that:
1) only has ~25 watts rms, and
2) has crossovers built into it

But, thank you for the reply - Happy Holidays. Brian

People in the know here have told me that the crossovers are built into the amp - my speakers work fine with full range so far as I can tell thus far after bypassing the amp...

Brian,

So, you removed the stock amp and replaced it with what? Where is the amp located? Is it a 4 channel amp?

Trying to make a write up with pics - having issues with some Microsoft products....I took the signal from the headunit to my trunk (RCA cables spliced directly into signal from HU) where I also ran power cable and all new speaker wire - got some old amps in there - 4 channel and subwoofer - works well so far. Also replaced all the speakers (except the 6X9 - they are just sitting there now).
