Re: Spoiler Rattle-ation!!

Just dyno-matting the entire trunk lid will help alot!
BUT, the spoiler will RATTLE when you pump the volume up alot...the middle section of the spoiler will still rattle even after you install the dynomat on the trunk lid (it does help alot).

There is no fix on this. The low frequency waves just hit that middle section of the spoiler like no tomorrow...it's just that there is no middle support (the stock spoiler is a 2 point mount...instead of the older 3 point style).

Without something holding the center of the spoiler down, it will rattle with the bass up really loud. too bad the damn spoiler is made of hollow fiberglass material...(or is that plastic?)..it's too light weight...

My entire trunk is dynomatted...but still, the middle of the spoiler will vibrate like crazy only when the bass is turned REALLY LOUD (hear it down the block).

forgot to mention that the dynomat in the trunk (lid/rear panel/some sides of the trunk) really does help absorb the vibrations...but I think you need foam to really dampen it out. The dynomat is good for road noise insulation..but for bass, i think foam would be better.

I recall Mr. StreeEffects has mentioned the use of foam before. You might want to do a search on "foam" or "dynomat".
