My friend wants to sell me them for 20 bucks! Are these any good? My stock speakers are 13 years old and I can use some new ones.

 

Sony isn't known for great car audio products, but for $20, it's should be an upgrade from the OEM 6x9's assuming the Sony's are in good shape

 

You'd be better off saving the $20, and adding ~$80 to it to replace the fronts and leaving the rears stock. Then amp the fronts with a small 2 channel amp, and you're good to go.

I've been running no rear speakers in my CL for over a year now, and don't plan on going back, even though the entire audio system is out of the car, except the front stage. Only front speakers are really needed, imo.

 

+1 i have just comps in front no rear as I have a custom made ported deck lid. To my knowledge im the only one with it to

 

Sony speakers are junk, for $20-30 you could get a set of cheap pioneers from walmart

but hey, for $20 it's not a bad deal, just dont' be surprised if they blow, they're not called xplodes for nothing
