so I'm getting a 10w6...
...now it's time to decide on the amp...
I want probably a 300w to power it... but which to choose from. RF power series has been the most cost efective so far... but I dunno. Help me out, puh-leeze

Well, my spiel always goes like this:
If you have an Acura would you put Nissan parts even if they worked just as good as comptech or Acura parts? Not really. So if you go with JL Audio, you should stick with it and keep it uniform. Exceptions include if you have an ultimate stereo and you think speakers by one company and amps by another will produce better quality. At least in that case all speakers would be brand "X" and all amps and processors would be brand "Y".
To each their own. If you chose the 10W6V2 than I would recommend the 500/1 JL amp. If you really want to keep it in the 300 watt range, go with the JL 300/2 and bridge it! Good luck....and enjoy the frequency response.

i would have to agree with acurajl there is no use in being cheap when it comes to the amp... you said you want 300w to power it then go with the jl 300/2... one question which series w6 are you getting the old school or the new v2.. if you are getting the new v2s i would definately recommend the 500/1...
I'm a true believer in headroom. If you are going with one W6, I would at least put 500w to the sub. I dont like using class d amps, and usually put class a/b so if I would not go with jl amps personally. Although I do hear excellent things about them.
if you wouldnt go with JL, then what?
BTW: Thanks, guys. I was leaning toward the 300/2... and I guess 500/1 because I was thinking about adding a second in the furture. I could just turn down the gain for now or something :p Does JL have a remote gain controller or is there a universal one?

you should be able to get a remote bass control from JL audio and I my suggestions are based on what people think they want...some times, ricardo, i try not to suggest more than what was already determined. In your case go for the 500 if you are willing to, instead of the 300

With the 500/1 you could get the 1 10W6v2....and later on you could add a second one if you wanted to!
