Question Alpine CVA-1005

Hey all,

One of my friends is selling their unit for a pretty good price. I was wondering if it would fit in my dash. I've got an '02 TL-S, w/o navi (obviously ). Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

It will fit but, a kit has to be custom made to hold it and trim around it. There is no easy drop in install kit. But, by all means, it is worth the time and effort to make to work. That is an awesome unit and I would jump all over it if you can.

Thanks for the info. OK, I'm new to this, so please bear with me. Where would I be able to get a kit like that?

Right now, there are really only 3 choices.

1) Contact www.streeteffectz.com. He does alot of TL installs.
2) There is another person on here that makes a kit as well.
It will run you about $200
3) Go to a local shop and have them install it and make the trim panel.

Anyway that you go, there is not yet a cheap alternative. None of the major kit manufactures make a simple $20 kit for the 99 and up TL.

No problem. If that amount is ok with you then, you will have no problem getting it installed and looking good. One of the downsides is that I single DIN unit looks pretty lonely in the huge space. I have an Alpine 7893 mounted pretty much in the middle and it could use something top or bottom. It is not bad though.

nope....what im doin is goin with a iva c801 up top, and a dva-5205 down below...lotta ppl tellin me to get the new alpine unit that built in dvd and 7 inch screen, but aurax2 is right...the din openning is HUGE, and would look really plain with only one din. as for the custom dash palte......i got a steal on a member form acl.com, and picked it up for $25...PS. the 801s have cd players, and can be had online for around $900..what i paid for mine...the CVAs dont have CD players, so might be a prob..but great units...will have pics in may sometime of my install!
