I have the same thing, its caused by the A/C being on. If you hooked up your amp using the low level signal from the deck(before the factory amp) you get this snap. The snap is very light, usually can only hear it if the volume is turned down low and happens maybe every 20-30 seconds. I found it only happens with the A/C on. Try driving with the A/C off in the morning with the volume set to 0 and see if you see it. I also get this snap but louder when toggling between my aftermarket audio switcher which is in between the factory XM signals. I'm guessing that because the deck sends a balanced signal and next component in my system isn't designed to accept the balanced signal, the snaps are picked up and then amplified. I have been thinking of getting an Audio Control Line Driver since it accepts balanced inputs and maybe getting alittle higher signal might help reduce the chance of hearing the snaps anymore.

thanks for your insight dizzy1

yes this snapping seems to be more prevelent during the summer months all of a sudden which would go along with your A/C theory.

i already have line drivers so i cant hope for that to fix the issue, would there be any way to rewire my system to bypass and snap sounds?

What brand of line driver? If its audio control then I guess my idea is out the window. I never had the problem when I used the signal after the factory amp, the problem is your adding alittle extra noise since the signal is being amplified by the factory amp(not the cleanest amp) then amped again in the trunk by your aftermarket amp. I've tried both ways, it sounds alittle cleaner by bypassing the factory amp, but you gain the random snaps. I am getting to the point were I might go back to the other way using the factory amp, in Arizona we use the A/C about 9 months a year so 9 months of snaps.

I have this same issue... everything I have in my 06 is stock. Snap/pop occurs after the AC has been running for about 15 minutes -- as the AC automatically cuts on and off, i get an audible snap/pop out of the speakers, EVEN when the Stereo is turned off! Took it to the dealer and they couldn't replicate it... ironically, the loaner TSX they gave me had the same issue.

Completely stock and you get this? Haven't heard of that before. Seems like all the noise comes from adding amps. You might want to drive with the A/C on to the dealership and leave the car running and get a service manager to get in the car to try to have it happen so he can hear it.

I think you might be the first. I do remember some people over a year ago on '04's having extra noise issues when adding equipment and seemed like some of the audio pro's on here determined that some head units had poor isolation and picked up alot of extra noise. I would keep taking it to the dealer until they get this fixed. Could be something as simple as faulty connector behind the deck. The problem is going to be replicating the snap for the dealer. Let us know if you get it fixed.

Any updates on this? My tsx is completely stock and has the same snapping sound. It's at the dealership as we speak.
