Single Woofer guys.

Just wanna know how many of you have a single subwoofer, how much power goin to it and what kind of sub. THanx

I have one sub with 500 watt amp and kinda not happy... IT really dosnt sound like i have 500 watts goin to it.

hmm.. well dnd, you've seen my setup. I have a single sub and I'm more than happy with it. 200 watts going into it at 4ohms. from the kenwood amp.

just make sure you get the sub that matches the amp. if you get a sub thats expecting 700 watts RMS and you're only pumping 500 watts RMS, then you gotta figure you're not getting the full potential. either that, or the box is built improperly or is the wrong size. that can matter greatly. I took my sub outta the box and I had 'no' bass. I put it back in and its stunning.

I have plenty of power going to the sub. The sub is rated at 300 watts RMS and 1000 peak, with the 500watts rms i thought it would be fine well 532 watts rms according to my verification sheet that came with the amp. I might try a bandpass box next.

What brand is the sub, amp and what does your enclosure look like, as well as the size of the box?

ITs a Alpine Type R sub. Rockford fosgate 500s Amm, and the enclosure is a 1 cu ft box, with some poly fill in it.

IF I change out my enclosure to a bandpass would it make a big differ????? THe kinds of music I listen to is mainly rap and techno.. Would the Bandpass be fine for this.... Also has anyone seen any good bandpass boxes. The only single bandpass I have seen the is the q logic one.
