Should I run one 5 channel Amp or 2 sep. Amps?
Here's what I have
Alpine SPX-177A 6 ½” Components
· Frequency Response : 35Hz - 35 kHz
· Impedance (Nominal) : 4 ohms
· 60 watts RMS, 240 watts Peak
Alpine SPS-1629S 6 ½” Coaxial 2 Way Speakers
· Frequency Response : 40Hz - 25kHz
· Impedance (Nominal) : 4 ohms
· Power Handling Capacity (Peak) : 120W
· Power Handling Capacity (RMS) : 30W
Getting
Alpine SWR-1021D 10” Type R
· Frequency Response : 28Hz - 1kHz
· Free Air Resonance (Fs) : 29Hz
· Impedance (Nominal) : 2 ohm + 2 ohm
· Power Handling Capacity (Peak) : 1000W
· Power Handling Capacity (RMS) : 300W
Now I can get one 5 channel Amp to power this which would be
Alpine MRV-F450
MAX Power (at 14.4V,EIAJ)
Bridged 4 ohms : 240W x 2 + 370W x 1
Per channel into 4 ohms : 90W x 4 + 370W x 1
RMS Power (at 12V,20Hz-200Hz)
Bridged 4 ohms : 80W x 2 + 150W x 1
Per channel into 2 ohms : 40W x 4 + 150W x 1
Per channel into 4 ohms : 30W x 4 + 150W x 1
RMS Power (at 14.4V,20Hz-200Hz)
Bridged 4 ohms : 120W x 2 + 200W x 1
Per channel into 2 ohms : 60W x 4 + 200W x 1
Per channel into 4 ohms : 50W x 4 + 200W x 1
Or Run these two Amps
Alpine MRV-F340
MAX Power (at 14.4V,EIAJ)
Bridged 4 ohms : 250W x 2
Per channel into 4 ohms : 100W x 4
RMS Power (at 12V,20Hz-200Hz)
Bridged 4 ohms : 90W x 2
Per channel into 2 ohms : 45W x 4
Per channel into 4 ohms : 35W x 4
RMS Power (at 14.4V,20Hz-200Hz)
Bridged 4 ohms : 130W x 2
Per channel into 2 ohms : 65W x 4
Per channel into 4 ohms : 55W x 4
ANd Alpine MRD-M300 (SUb)
MAX Power (at 14.4V,EIAJ)
Per channel into 2 ohms : 600W x 1
RMS Power (at 12V,20Hz-200Hz)
Per channel into 2 ohms : 200W x 1
Per channel into 4 ohms : 100W x 1
RMS Power (at 14.4V,20Hz-200Hz)
Per channel into 2 ohms : 300W x 1
Per channel into 4 ohms : 150W x 1
The cost difference between the two is $100, being to run two amps, it'll be $100 more.
Should I run one channel amp or two amps?
I'm not looking for really really hard bass, just something decent.
Thanks

I would recommend 2 amps. 1 class A/B amp for the interior speakers. 1 class D for dedicated low freq. powering. Besides, 2 amps will look better if the 2 have the same side even though you have to deal with fused distributor block and 2 ground wires.

My $.02=1 amp
1 amp for one tiny 10" sub
keep it neat and tiny, simple. There is more than enough power with the one you have picked out and it will probably run better for the power source. Thinking about adding another sub later or kick panels than get the second amp now. Consider the power consequences of two.

the alpine 5 channel has a class D subwoofer section.
As I said on the other forum, its an amazing amp... and it'll be your best bet.
If you wanna wait, the Boston amps will be out this month sometime... they are INSANE!
JL is junk and PPI is overpriced.
and remember, the dual 4 ohm VC sub, wired parallel.

SilverKnight... dont temp me... i'd love to BASH your amps... with a sledge hammer!!
...just fuckin with ya!
to me JL used to be a decent product... now, over time, the company has circum to the trend that, the more money they can make off a product, the better... meaning their quality has slipped away and prices have gone up. Their products really dont impress me.
Alpine makes incredible amps... I dont know what you're talking about "low end".

Silverknight:
He and I have had huge fights about JL...he just...has his opinions (no matter how retarded we know they are but are too nice to say ).
plkalra:
I, like Silverknight, would suggest two. It allows you to get the exact amp you need for each part, they will run cooler, you can tweak them better, they're more stable, etc etc etc. There are a million reasons for it. The only two against it are 1) price (sometimes separate amps cost more if you get a good deal on an all-in-one) 2) size (two amps take up more room than one). But if you can I would go two. If you'll notice...I'm running 5 (actually 6 soon)...and I compete IASCA. That's why I do.

u dont like my advice... lick balls... hes not building a competion system... but rather something to listen to on a daily basis... and if you notice, all hes shopping for is alpine amps... and the do make one hell of an amp... you pay a dollar a watt, and you get a good amp.
u wanna keep going on an immature competition as to "what amps are better" go for it... but im out.
hes looking for advice on amps... he has selected the ones he likes, and made some great choices doing so... he dosent need people telling him to buy an $1100 amp when he in no way need it.

This guy puts 'immature' and 'lick balls' in the same post.....this guy really shows his true age.....are you sure you are even old enough to drive??
If I see a guy ready to jump off a bridge, I will try to stop him.
This guy needs to know that he can find a better amp then a Alpine....remember...you get what you pay for!

you guys should look at where's the fires come from and stop that. this forums shouldn't fight for the brand. and one more thing i nerver own alpine amp before so forget it. peace
