ttran_fs,
I've found that the 2nd Generation has a completely different pin configuration as the one shown. So no, it won't work. If anyone has the pin and descriptions of the new security module I'd love to get a copy myself.
As for a dual stage shock sensor, it's not needed since the system doesn't support 2 stages. You can still get a dual stage sensor but just don't hook up one of the stages.

Bigmonkey70,
thanks, and is there anything else I can add on to the factory alarm beside shock sensor. And is there a way I can install it with stage function?

Just to be clear, it is probable that the under dash wiring shown is the same and would work with our 2003 models. What I am saying is that the pinout diagram that is given for the 1st gen security module is completely different than what we have. And that's the info that I'm looking for - the equivalent of photo #12 so I can hook in a whole alarm system rather then just a shock sensor.
If you want a full functioning alarm, take a look at this:

I have the full install instructions for this if you're interested.

Yes, it works off of the factory remotes. They have a fax back system for the wiring of different cars, so you can call 1-800-225-6074, pick option #3 and extension 8405. You will want the main list first to get the number for your car.
Here's the install instructions:
http://www.audiovox.com/manuals/inst...1286022_IM.pdf
and here are the operating instructions that also shows the features:
http://www.audiovox.com/manuals/owners/1286021_OM.pdf
Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with car wiring so I haven't bought the alarm until I have enough info that I think I can hook it up. A local place will put it in for $125 but I like doing these things myself. From the '97 pinout info I know I could do it at the security module under the passenger seat, but I need the info for my model. Let me know if you find any more information.

Ok, I will look around also, I'll let you know if I get more info, but thanks again, seems like the audiovox system is more ideal than just adding a shock sensor

Yea i know the 2002+ security module are different than the 99-01. I added alot of modules to the stock alarm including antijacking, radar perimeter, glass sensor, etc. The dual sensor can be used as a single stage with the stock alarm. You can actually wire both stage to the same stock alarm trigger wire.
I am not sure how reliable the audiovox is. If you add on the full alarm, you should go with a better one like viper, clifford ,etc.

Most of the alarm systems are made by the same company. For a list of their models you can visit here:
http://www.directed.com
They don't have an add-on under the viper line but there are some under the Automate, Hornet and Clifford names. (They don't put their name on the generic Automate series so no info on them there)
As to the reliability, the local shop here says they mostly have to repair the Viper series but they never have to fix the Prestige line (by Audiovox). But I know enough about electronics not to put too much stock into antidotal evidence.

I have a '03 TL and I need some help on installing the shock sensor. I ordered CrimeStopper dual stage shock sensor and followed Novawhitetypes' instruction, here http://public.fotki.com/novawhitetyp...ensor_install/ , everything went smoothly but only the alarm wouldn't set off. I can see the LED was flashing when I shake it with the doors locked and windows down. The only thing I can think of is I tapped the WRONG wire, I post some pics here: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288867487 and marked the yellow wire I tapped on. I used the voltage meter which shows there is constant 12V on the yellow wire no matter if the trunk/hood is closed or open.
So is the yellow wire for hood or trunk? And is there a better way to make sure which yellow wire I should tap to? Thanks for any suggestion.
