run a ps2 while the engine isn't running

technical question out there for all you engineering type people:

if i want to run a ps2 while the engine is off, i believe i run the risk of draining my battery. I know capacitors act as a buffer for sound amps, but is it possible to install an inverter after the capacitor into a ps2? The only reason I ask is like if i want to play ps2 in front of a store that i'm waiting to open (haha just some random scenario) and i don't want to run my engine i wonder if putting it after the cap will be okay.. cuz i think the cap starts beeping when its low in power?

I wouldn't recommend running the power off of a cap. Get an OPTIMA yellow top deep cycle battery. I heard these things can run for hours and hours before it's drained. They go for like $100-$150 I think.

A capacitor will act as brief power source for the speaker amp in case a voltage drop from the main battery occurs (a/c turning on, etc..). I don't think you want to run a PS2 off of one.

I don't think you want a second battery, unless you're saying you're going to this every day for an hour or more without starting the car.

If you can fit the Honda-size small-form-factor Optima as a main battery, you're probably OK... you could run a second battery, but they are *a pain in the a$$* and rarely worth it.

There is no right way to do something stupid.
