i dont have much experience with them, but a friend of mine had a one of there larger amps about a year ago, it had some bad overheating problems... but dont let this turn you away from them entirely, hopefully some one else will chime in.

Power series is still good stuff. Punch series is Best Buy shit now.

The overheating problem above was probably due to improper mounting.

well it was mounted in the correct direction (ie, not upside down) and with pleanty of space around it, eventually a few computer fans were added when the problem was noticed, it was prolly just a lemon..

I think you will be satisfied with the Power series. I have a Rockford amp and no overheating problems at all.

That would be great if your not looking to be a bass nazi...or gonna add any more subs later, If I remember correctly I don't think that the amps are regulated which means that the output will vary with the imout most of the time when your traveling your at 14.4 volts, but say ur at a stop light and got it craking a little your really draw on the battery (and caps too if you got them) bringing the 14.4 voltage of the car way down... the output of the amp will vary or could even shut off if your idling for long enough and it could surge might blow the fuses in the power cables...

Rockford power series sucks, Rockfor Punch series is awsome. The overheating problem was probably due to how the speakers were wired. Lots of people think if they bridge their amp they will get more power from the amp and that is miss leading. If you bridge an amp to get more RMS the peak power of the amp does not change. Also if an amp says it provides 100Wx2 @ 4ohm or 250x1 @ 4 ohm and u bridge the amp to get 250x1 and you hook 2, ohm subs to it in parallel the amp sees 1 2ohm sub. Less resistance means more power flow. So now your amp is putting out its peak power all the time and it overheats. Rockfords though will turn off so u dont burn up the transistors.
