Replace stock BOSE with Aftermarket Amp

I am going to be replacing my stock BOSE amp (02 CL-S). I searched and many threads mention that the stock speakers might not work with an aftermarket amp. It talks about the ohms... or something. I am going to be installing a 400 watt amplifier in this car. Can I simply just take out the stock amp and replace it with an aftermarket? Will the speakers be compatiable? thanks

You answered your own question. It won't sound any better. Nor is it really worth the effort. Save your money until you can replace all the speakers.
